EMERGENCY! Need a new host! - Taichi Kamiya 00

Damn... Again, the site will be moving. The host is ending all hosting. So, the site may go down on friday. Any bids for another digitropics?

All offers would be appreciated, as long as hosting is guaranteed for one year.

And no, we're not closing. While we're moving, we still have our old Digmon Universe domain at www.digiuniv.com, use this address to check out where we will be next!

Hidden Advertising, Part II - Taichi Kamiya 00

Ok, well I finally got the digimon movie (U.S.) on DVD, and I started to watch it... Especially in the third part of the movie, there were a lot of ads, too real to be just drawn in. For instance, has your mom been looking for a new minivan, I guess so! Then buy yourself a Mazda MPV. If your dad's looking for a truck, buy the old Mazda truck! Also, have you ran out of gas? Look for the nearest Shell Gas Station!. Or, you don't need gas, but run an airplane? Try Northwest / KLM... lol, these are some of the "hidden" (they're pretty obvious) advertising.

Have Fun, Get Insane! - Taichi Kamiya 00

Coming up on the 2nd week of DigiTropics, we reopened the good-old "Digidestined Painter" again on the left bar... Heh, its insane. That reminds me, that we have a new affiliate, Digimon Insane on the right bar. Give them a check!

Digimon World Tour: Part 1 - Taichi Kamiya 00

Bam! The Digimon World Tour gets its beginnings. We saw the debut of seven new digidestined. Here they Are:

United States: New York
Phil, Maria, Lou, Steve
These are 4 kids who live in the inner city of New York.

Asia: Hong Kong
The Poi Brothers (no individual names available)
These are supposedly martial arts professionals who live in downtown Hong Kong.

Asia: India
Mina :: Thanks Imdmantomeet ::
An Indian Girl who lives near the India-China border in the Himalayan Mountains.

Ok, next on the agenda! ADVERTISING FOR RCA... Why do they advertise the American electronics company on TV, but not the Japanese based ones like SONY or AIWA (Remember, the SUNI and :: forgot the AIWA substitute :: audio accessories?)... Maybe its an insult to "poorly-made" American electronics... I hope I didn't start heated debate.

FOX Kids 2001-02 - Taichi Kamiya 00

Courtesy MediaWeek.com (Annotated)

With a continued emphasis on action, adventure and prankster comedy, Fox Kids will introduce six new series to its weekday and Saturday morning slates for its upcoming 11th season. This includes:

Evolution
Based on the feature film of the same name, this animated series tells the story of history repeating itself when a meteor carrying a single-cell organism from outer space crashes in the Arizona desert.

Outer Dimension
A live action adventure following a young boy on a quest to unite the Outer Dimension with Earth.

The Ripping Friends
From the creator of Ren & Stimpy, John Kricfalusi, comes this animated story of superheroes Crag, Rip, Slab and Chunk.

Shinzo
In typical anime style, Shinzo tells the story of a humankind being replaced by genetically engineered evil creatures called Enterrans (who comes up with these concepts?).

Transformers: Robots in Disguise
Another anime series, this time featuring Cyber robots who attempt to save Earth.

What's With Andy
Based on the book series Just Kidding, this animated series revolves around a young boy who spends his time mastering the art of being a prankster.

And, in development for no earlier than a midseason start is an animated version of The WB's popular Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, which will be developed and produced by original Buffy creator Joss Whedon. No word yet on whether Sarah Michelle Gellar will participate in the series.

Seems like FOX is introducing an interesting new schedule with several pilot series dayviewing, including the return of a new Transformers series, and another Anime development. However, it is confirmed by another Yahoo! News article, that FOX affiliates are moving the weekday schedule from 3:00-5:00 P.M. to 2:00-4:00 P.M. (CST).

Stolen! - Taichi Kamiya 00

Police seize 15,000 Fake Pokemons
Courtesy Yahoo!.com

ROME (Reuters) - Italian police said on Tuesday they had seized 15,000 fake plastic characters from the cult children's games Pokemon, Digimon and Dragonball.

The models were found in a truck at Rome's Fiumicino airport after apparently being imported illegally from China.

``The toys were totally unsafe and dangerous for children,'' a police spokesman said. ``The Chinese exporters, with the collaboration of their Italian importers, had fixed 'Made in the European Union (news - web sites)' stickers on them.''

A 41-year-old Italian was arrested.

Pokemon is a game in which children have to collect scores of different monsters. It started as a card game in Japan but has spawned a television cartoon series and a computer game.

Digimon and Dragonball are similar games which followed in Pokemon's wake.

Err... one thing wrong... Digimon and Dragonball are concepts drawn before Pokemon (1991, and the 1980s, respectively).

"Audio"... bloop that? - Taichi Kamiya 00

On today's rerun, you should have noticed some audio problems. The music was distorted, sometimes skipping over "Digimon" and missing some of the words in the song. As a result, the DNA digivolving turned into LP digivolving (get it? LP = record = scratching... you don't... okay).

Pokemon: The Movie 3 opens in theaters tommorrow... along with a 15-45 minute short "bonus" film. I wonder where they got the title idea? (from "Digimon: The Movie"?) Anyway, expect this movie to be a 1 week wonder. In other words, a top 5 success the first 1 or 2 weeks, then flopping the following weeks. It seems a trend for Anime U.S. movies.

Do you think its the end of Taiora? - Taichi Kamiya 00

Episode 38: A Very Digi Christmas brought the spotlight back onto the love relationships between the digidestined. Before the episode, I thought that Sora was in love with me... er Tai. But, well, we saw proof that would disprove the Taiora theory. When Tai pulled up to Sora, at Matt's trailer, Sora was rather nervous that Tai was there. It was as if she wanted to avoid Tai. When I... er, Tai put his hand on Sora's shoulder, Sora turned away, going into Matt's trailer. Let's not forget to mention that Sora said that "I wanted to see if Matt's available after the concert." Is Taiora dead? Well... Let's hope we can flash twenty-five years later... hint, hint

New Sections - Taichi Kamiya 00

We uploaded several sections up today. All of the "Digimon: The Movie" sections are online, along with 1/2 of the TCG sections. More uploads to come.

Digimon Website Community News - Digidestination was shut down a few hours ago, due to well, copyright infringement. It seems that the episode downloads that they had attracted Saban's Attention. A great web institution for Digimon has been deleted. Anyway, as a result, Takeru (or T.K.) from Digidestination will be updating here for a while. Welcome T.K.

Audio Singles - Taichi Kamiya 00

Hey! Our newest brother site, DigiPlanet, and our multimedia guy Birdman have set up an all-new "Audio Single" section. This is available on the right side of the site layout. You can download songs from CD singles released from Japan. This month's single is "Beat Hit", which contains the "Digimon Adventure 02 Second Evolution Theme". There are 2 songs, and 2 versions of both song (one regular audio / one karaoke-ized). Enjoy.

Saudi Arabian Pokemon - Taichi Kamiya 00

Heck, I wanted to tell everyone this story, but the site was down when it was shown on television. Anyway, in Saudi Arabia, Pokemon was banned from Television there because the government believes that Pokemon stimulates and promotes gambling! That's the second ban for Pokemon. Remember, a few months ago, Pokemon was banned in Turkey.

Quick Headlines - Taichi Kamiya 00

The redesign of the layout and last-minute homework sort of delayed the full site opening. I'll try my best to get some of the sections up over the week.

Ok, well, I finally got the newspro system back online. This means time for some real news from the digimon world.

Dairy Queen decides to make a new deal with Digimon. Starting sometime this year, Digimon enters its largest promo with a company. You'll see Digimon cups, bags, even wrappers. Dairy Queen expects to increase profits through this promotion.

Digimon Tamers 03 hits the Japanese airwaves in a new season. It is completely different from the 02 season, as we follow a new story line with new characters. The story is based on one kid (Takato) who reaches a fait with Digimon Trading Cards.... I won't spoil you.

Digimon Ratings were one of the highest in February 2001, helping FOX Kids get a ratings ratio of 3.5 million / 17 million viewers.
